Current is a weekly newspaper distributed throughout suburban Indianapolis. As an interning beat reporter, I completed three to five stories each week covering local entertainers and special events.

Smith & Grimm

Beverly Smith and John Grimm are a musical duo from Georgia. After completing a cross country tour last year, they made a stop in Indiana.

History on Tap

Conner Prairie hosted the fifth annual History on Tap event on June 3. Guests get to travel the grounds at Conner Prairie while enjoying a variety of beer tastings. 

Postcard

Postcard is a pop rock band from Fishers. They played during the Summer Concert Series this year, which was their largest audience to date.

Paul Whitacre

Paul Whitacre is a recent graduate from Ball State University who is working to release his first studio album.

'Little Women'

The Belfry Theatre in Noblesville debuts its own version of the Broadway musical "Little Women."

Bad Brad & the Sipsey Slims

The Sipsey Slims, a soul band from Alabama made, visit Fishers, Indiana for a special concert requested by fans.

Chariot Festival

The Jagannath Assoication of Indiana paired with the Hindu Temple of Central Indiana to bring the Chariot Festival, a traditional Indian celebration, to a local audience. 

'The Storyteller'

Fishers becomes a movie backdrop when Joe Crump of 20 Questions Film begins shooting a new film in town.

Carmel Clay Kids Concerts

Carmel Clay Parks offers free kids concerts every Monday morning throughout the summer.

Art of Wine

The Carmel Arts & Design District is home to Art of Wine, an annual event where patrons can taste wine from a variety of vendors, visit shops and enjoy live music.

Kristina Oliver

After losing both parents within a year and a half, Kristina Oliver decided it was time to take her art to the next level. She was voted into the Hamilton County Artist's Association and snagged a solo exhibit within the year.

Nickel Plate Studio Tour

Nickel Plate Arts adds a region-wide studio tour to their annual arts festival where visitors can explore 12 work spaces.
