UnMasked: The Stigma of Meth

Two Ball State University professors led 27 journalism and telecommunications students in this multi-platform immersive learning project during the fall 2016 semester. Delaware County leads the state in the number of meth labs seized and Indiana leads the country. For this project, we investigated the epidemic-sized issue and offered possible solutions through a website, magazine, podcasts, a radio series and a 28-minute documentary. I completed two long-form magazine articles and contributed to other interviews, infographics and articles.

Delaware County Drug Court

Drug Court is an alternative to incarceration. Those sent to Drug Court follow a specific program for up to three years in order to beat their addiction.

Legislation

A new law was enacted in July 2016 to make pseudoephedrine more difficult to purchase in hopes of decreasing the amount of methamphetamine in Muncie. It's too early to tell if the law is enough.
